VISIT OF BRITISHERS. EXTRA MATCHES AND TERMS. RADIO PRIVILEGES ASKED. (By Telegraph.- M ress Association.) WELL 7 :iGTON, this day. The management committee of the Ne<v Zealand Rugby Union on receiving letters from the New Zealand Broadcasting Company and the Hawke's Bay Radio Society asking that the union allow .Rugby matches, particularly of the England-New Zealand Tests, to be broadcast, decided that the matter be brought up in general business at the annual meeting of delegates of the New Zealand Union. The Queensland Rugby Union wrote asking for reduction upon the fifty-fifty terms asked for a visit of the British team to Brisbane. It was decided to inform the Queensland Union that if the Australian matches played by the British team showed a loss and the New Zealand matches a profit, the New Zealand Union would be prepared to review the terms. The Bay of Plenty Union applied for a match against the British team at Rotorua. It was decided to reply that the itinerary had already been drawn up,'but that the question of the British team playing an unofficial game at Rotorua would be placed before the visitors. It was resolved that the Rugby Union be asked fo arrange for one or more matches between senior teams to be played at Eden Park before the commencement of tin , usual Competitions, and the net proceeds of the sale to be divided pro rat a among the clubs having a team competing in the senior A or B competition, such teams to have played all games in the previous season, or to complete the ensuing ono before being eligible to draw their share. In moving the. resolution Mr. O. S. Harvey said that none of the clubs in Auckland received anything from the proceeds of the matches as is done in other centres. He pointed out that under this scheme the A.K.U. would not lose any sale money from their own games, and that many of the clubs in the district-were in need of financial help.

The delegates were authorised to give notice of motion to move the above resolution at the forthcoming annual mooting of the Rugby Union. PENROSE CLUB. Mr. J. CiHT presided over the annual meeting of the Penrose Rugby Football Club. There was an attendance of gome 30 members. The report and balance-sheet were presented, the former referring to the fact that the third open team were runnersup In the section, and that the fourth grade did very well in their competition, whilst the balance-sheet disclosed the fact that tlio year ended in a credit balance. The annual meeting of the Grammar Old Boys' Football Club was held last evening. The balance-sheet showed a surplus on the year's working, but the committee pointed out that the funds would Have been considerably increased if all numbers had met their obligations. It was- decided to hold the first practices at the school grounds on March 29, and at the Ponsonby sued on April 2, in the . The "club decided to give notice of motion that at the annual meeting of the delegates of the Auckland Rugby Union it would propose the following resolution :— "That in future only rules, as played by other unions in New Zealand, be played in all matches under the jurisdiction of the Auckland Rugby Union."
