SWIMMING.
MORHINSVILLE GALA. HAMILTON WINS BANNER. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, this day. There was a large attendance at the Morrinsville Swimming Club's carnival last evening, when the Auckland swimmers, G. Bridson, D. Hyauiason and \V. Hassan, proved a great attraction. Competitors were present from Hamilton, Cambridge and Paeroa. Hamilton won both the men's and ladies' relay races, winning back the Wliineray Banner, which Morrinsville won at Hamilton last month. Both races were closely contested. The visiting champions delighted the crowd, and Bridson competed iu the 100 yards and 50 yards races. He also gave an exhibition of his strokes and demonstrated his method of turning. Hassan gave a variety of fancy dives, and also competed in the open dive. Results :— 50 Yards Handicap. — Bridson (Auckland), scratch, 1; Farquhar (Hamilton), Is, 2; Dauvergne (Hamilton), ss, 3. Time, 275. 100 Yards Handicap.—Barker (Morrinsville), 13s, 1; W. Cameron (Morrinsville), 12s, 2; Bridson (Auckland), "scratch, 3. Time, "1 2-ss. Bridson's time was 58 2-ss. 50 Yards Ladies' Handicap.—M. E.nson (Morrinsville), scratch, 1; I. Pratt (Hamilton), ;!s, 2; W. Gage (Hamilton), 4s, 3, Time, 40s. Ladies' Dive.—E. Watson (Hamilton) 1, S. Dyke (Morrinsville) 2. Men's Dive.—C. Mallett (Morrinsville) 1, W. Hassan (Auckland) 2.
