GOLF.

AUCKLAND CLUB. The report to be submitted to the annual meeting of the Auckland, Golf Club at the Chamber of Commerce on the evening or Saturday, -March 29. shows a decrease of 13 in the membership last year, mostly among country members. On the financial side the year's operations showed a debit ot £1481, but £1082 had been expended for labour and material in reconstructing rive of the greens, remodelling the golf house, and constructing five temporary holes on Harding's property for practice. Among other non-recurring items of expenditure were the acquisition of a plant for soil sterilising and two hand-mowers. The season had been fully occupied with club and interclub matches, the holding of a boys' tournament, and the use of the links £or tininitial champion of champions match. The senior club championship was won by E. L. Bartleet, and the junior championship by A. L. Stedman. Members appreciated the extra comfort of the improvements to the golf house. The opening day of the season will he March 15, when mixed foursomes will be played. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. The report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Maungakiekie Golf Club at the Chamber of Commerce on March 28, shows an increased membership of seventeen. After having capitalised the cost of improvements to the clubhouses and construction work at Titlraugi, the year's operations had ended with a debit of £.'.). Clubhouse and course at Titirangi had been greutly improved, and improvements had been made to the One Tree Hill clubhouse. The provincial championships had been held at Titirangi, the winner being S. Morpeth, club's secretary, who later had resigned io take up the post of manager of the Commonwealth Golf Club at Melbourne. The club cup was won by H. Brinsden, the junior cup by J. Kankin, and the C grade cup by A. E. Saunders. The opening day of the season nt Titirangi will be March 22, and at One Tree March 29, with mixed foursomes. PUPUKE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Pupuke Golf Club was attended by <36 members. The annual report stated the much improved course planned by Mr. lledbead was rapidly approaching completion. Maintenance had been unusually heavy, while improvements to the clubhouse had. cost £104. The membership stood at 216, ol whom 110 were lad/ players, 92 men, and 14 juniors.
