ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES. CORINAX SHAPES WELL. TRACKS IX EXCELLENT ORDER. Beautiful weather prevailed at Eilerslie this morning for training work The course proper, with the poles about 20ft out from the rails, No. 2 grass track, and the schooling hurdles were all in use, the going being excellent. Kawainga was slightly better than War Officer at the conclusion of six furlongs, run 1.20 1-3. Eager Rose was allotted a similar task, which she completed in 1.19 4-5. Gemlight and Praetor jumped off at the live furlong post and ran home in 1.4 4-5. They were ridden out, and there was little between them at the finish. He ran the first half-mile in 54 2-os, and the full journey in 1.51. Taneriri finished in front of Tukunoa over half a mile in 535. Roman Pearl and Spring Abbey were given a similar task, traversing the distance in 545. They could have C done better. Raffiight and Thespis took 54 l-5s to run home from the half-mile peg. General Lu covered a similar distance easily in 1.28. The Jumpers. Mountain Guide (J. Burgess) cleared a couple of pony hurdles safely. Chesterman (A. McGregor) was sent >ver four schooling hurdles.
