ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES. CORINAX SHAPES WELL. TRACKS IX EXCELLENT ORDER. Beautiful weather prevailed at Eilerslie this morning for training work The course proper, with the poles about 20ft out from the rails, No. 2 grass track, and the schooling hurdles were all in use, the going being excellent. The Course Proper. The first to work was King Emerald, who traversed a round in 2.4 4-"). He went very evenly throughout, running the last six furlongs in 1.20 1-5. Kawainga was slightly better than War Officer at the conclusion of six furlongs, run 1.20 1-3. Eager Rose was allotted a similar task, which she completed in 1.19 4-5. Gemlight and Praetor jumped off at the live furlong post and ran home in 1.4 4-5. They were ridden out, and there was little between them at the finish. Good Idea and Xeil ran home from the five furlong post in 1.6 4.5. Brampton was going better than Zane Grey at the finish of half a mile, which occupied 53 3-ss. Zane Grey is on the improve. Corinax, The Lover and Thursby were companions over a mile, finishing as named. They ran the first two furlongs in 25 1-os, and the full distance in 1.45 4-5, tl:3 last six furlongs taking 1.20 3-5. Corinax was on the outside, and got through his task in great style. Hannibal ran home from the halfmile peg in 51 4-ss. Vallar, from almost a stand at the six furlongs post, ran home in 1.23 3-5. Merry Lu and Wild Country were together after sprinting from the three furlong peg in 40 3-ss. Tea Time trotted to the five furlong peg and came home in 1.6. Kairuri was sent over a mile. He ran the first half-mile in 54 2-os, and the full journey in 1.51. Taneriri finished in front of Tukunoa over half a mile in 535. Roman Pearl and Spring Abbey were given a similar task, traversing the distance in 545. They could have C done better. Raffiight and Thespis took 54 l-5s to run home from the half-mile peg. They were practically on terms at the finish." Thais and the. two-year-old halfbrother to Jolie Money, by Prince Merri-wee—-Jolie Fille, were sent three furlongs from the mile to the five furlong post. They covered the distance in 30s. Thais being in front at the finish, but the Prince Merriwee gelding also shaped well. No. 2 Grass. Gold Money strode over six furlongs in 1.19 2-3, taking 54s for the last halfmile. Lusoma -was given an easy six furlongs, which she covered in 1.25. Importer did useful work over a round, but was not timed. Avoncourt was goinjr better than Thunderstorm at the end' of half a mile, which took 555. Greenfield was timed to run home from the six furlong post in 1.23 1-5. General Lu covered a similar distance easily in 1.28. The Jumpers. Mountain Guide (J. Burgess) cleared a couple of pony hurdles safely. Chesterman (A. McGregor) was sent >ver four schooling hurdles. He had very ittle pace on, and rapped the last fence • itherwise his display was satisfactory.' Serang (R, Olive), Kamehameha (C. dciNeil) and Glenotus (B. Rae) were ompanions over a round of four scheming hurdles. The first-named pair then 'tilled up, and Glenotus continued on lone over two more obstacles.
