HENDERSON SCHOOL
At the monthly meeting of the Henderson school committee, the chairman, Mr. W. Haythornthwaite, presiding, it was decided that the Education Board be approached with a view to having a system of central heating installed. The acting-headmaster was panted permission to give the school children a holiday on Wednesday, the 18th inst., the date for the annual school picnic at Helensville. Mr. Richard Hoe, district representative on the Education Board, invited the committee to meet him at the school on the 11th inst. It was agreed to do so, and call his attention to the improvements necessary to the school buildings and playgrounds. It was agreed that the money raised by the recent school concert, approximately £30, be utilised for the erection of a suitable entrance gate and for beautifying the school grounds, and a sub-committee was appointed to arrange for the carrying out of this work.
