GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
The Glen Eden Town Board met last evening, Mr. W. E. Martin presided. Transport.—A proposed new bus timetable was submitted by the Auckland Bus Co., showing an increase in the number of buses to be run daily, provision for the extension of the service to the foot of Prospect Road, and a proportion to run via Croydon Road to improve the New Lynn service. This programme was approved, and is being put before the Transport Board. Works.—lt was decided to extend the ! Waima Road formation, so as to give ■ vehicular access to all sections on the road. The retarriug and repairing of . Valley Road is to be undertaken. The bank at the foot of Prospect Road is, to be removed sufficiently to give better visibility to motor traffic. The bridge at the foot of Valley Road is ,to be temporarily strengthened and made safe for traffic. Its permanent construction is to be considered in the 1930-31 estimates. Mr. Shepherd was appointed delegate to a meeting of the New Lynn Borough Council to consider the proportional payments to be fixed for the reconstruction of the Whau Bridge. Water Reticulation. — The board's engineer is to be requested to draw up a modified scheme of water reticulation of the district.
