PRONUNCIATION OF ENGLISH.
May I ask through the medium of your paper who is responsible for the pronunciation of English now being taught in our schools. My children have to-day come home and rccitea to me a poem containing the words "house and "mouse" and pronounced them as 1 rhyming with "gross." The word down they call "cloan"; in short, they are rapjjfr acquiring an affected style of speech. It.
