LAST MAIL FOR CHRISTMAS.

FOR OVERSEAS FRIENDS. WHEX TO POST " BRETT'S." People with friends in the Old Country should not forget that the last mail to reach Home in time for the Christmas festivities will close at Auckland on Wednesday, November 6, at 3 p.m.. to connect with the Remuera, leaving Napier on the 9th. The Remuera is due in London on December 15. If you post by this route you send your "Brett's Annual" for one penny. By the Vancouver route the postage will cost you up to sd, but you can then post in Auckland up to November 19. which mail will reach London on December 18. "Brett's Annual" is the ideal thing to post your distant friends at this time of the year. English people were much interested in the beautiful reproductions of water-colours last year. Tliis year the colour reproductions are even finer, and most characteristic of New Zealand scenery. It is the distinctive New Zealand scenery that appeals to the people overseas. They have more charming scenery than we have when it conies to the calm placid stream, with the flowers in the hedgerows, and the beautiful expanse of green countryside and woodland, but New Zealand's grand scenery is something quite out of the ken of the people at Home—and that is why '"Brett's" is always welcomed by one's English correspondents. No more delightful reminder of the Dominion and tile kindly Christmas season could bo posted. Mail closes at Auckland on November for the direct mail, postage one penny, and on November 19 by the Aorangi,' postage sd. and both these mails will »»et Home in time for Christmas.
