ROCKY NOOK CROQUET CLUB.
The Rocky Nook Croquet Club held its official opening on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of club members and friends. The president of the Bowling Club, Mr. Tongue, and the Hon. A. J. Stalhvorthy made congratulatory reference to the progress of the club and wished it every success in the coming season. The lawns were gaily decorated and an enjoyable musical programme was rendered by O'Halloran's orchestra. Mrs. Tongue, president of the Croquet Club, played the first ball of the season and the lawns were declared open amidst mucii applause. The players then took part in a progressive tourney, the winneis being: A grade, Mrs. Cole; B grade, Mrs. Taylor. A dainty afternoon tea was served in the club's pavilion, where the tables looked very attractive with their decorations of Iceland poppies. Among the visitors present were: Mrs. Stallworthy, Mrs. Page, Mrs. Cole, Mrs. Finch, Mrs. Alder, Mrs. Clarkson, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Butler, Mrs. Keatley, sen., Mrs. McGill, Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Bush, Mrs. James.
