N.S.W. RIFLE SHOOTING.
NEW ZEALANDER STARTS WELL (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Prince of .Wales' rifle match, first stage of the King's trophy, was won by a New Zealander, Rifleman W. Mclvor, of Petone. with 102 points. This total was compiled over three ranges, seven shots each at 300 yds, 500 yds and 600 yds, his totals being 33, 34, and 35. E. Aehby, of Trafalgar, Victoria, finished with the samo total, but was beaten on the count back for the £20 prize. Mclvor and Ashby are leading in the King's trophy match. R. Palmer, Victoria, won the Longfteld aggregate, which is second in importance to the King's. Conditions throughout the day were tricky.
