A party of four nieu and three dog teams may leave the Bay of Whales within a few hours as the temperature has rieen considerably and there is warm sunshine. Much, of their load already has been taken several miles up the bay to the foot of the Barrier, where it will be picked up. The first night's camp probably witl bo five or ten miles further, beyond the top of the Barrier edge. If they go they will be accompanied by members of the geological party, who will assist them up the difficult pull which leads to the Barrier, twelve miles south of Little America, and will remain with them a day or two. The party then will go inland 200 miles and lay depots for the geological party. This will depart a few days later and follow the first party's trail to half way to the mountains.
