The ossified mentality of which "A.E.C. complains would not appear to be confined altogether to one side in discussing the above subject, as "A.E.C." himself, whilst waxing sarcastic over the idea that his question remained unanswered, entirely ignores the tact that it was answered, and that very explicitly, by referring him (a) to the geography of the Pacific Ocean; (b) to the history of the past thirty years; and (c) to statistics in general and re "population in particular. It is characteristic of "A.E.C.'s" side of the case to leave these considerations completely out of account, albeit they are at the very root of the whole matter. " EX-COLOXIAL PRIVAIJi-
