Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report: During the week we held sales at Westfield, Waiotira, Waiuku, Turua, Helensville, Waiheke and Pukekohe, also a pig sale at Tuakau. There were full yardings of cattle and we report good sales at all centres. Best dairy cows and heifers made £14 to £19; second-grade cows and heifers, £10 to £13 15/; other dairy cows and heifers, £5 10/ to £9 17/0; empty young cows and heifers, £4 10/ to £6 10/; store and boner cows, £2 10 /to £6; cows with calves, £7 to £10 15/; heavy prime fat cows and heifers, £9 to £12 5/; lighter fat cows and heifers, £6 10/ to £8 17/6; fat steers, £12 5/ to £16 17/0; forwardconditioned four-year-old steers, £10 2/ to £10 17/6; three to four-year-old steers, £8 15/ to £10; two to three-year-old steers, £7 to £8 12/6; yearling to 18-month-old steers, £5 10/ ;to £6 17/6 well-bred and well-grown yearling to 15-month-old heifers, £7 15/ to £9 3/, the latter price for heifers bred and sold on account of Mr. Bulte, Waiuku; other wellbred yearling heifers, £6 to £7 12/6; other yearling heifers, £3 15/ to £5 15/; heavy bulls, £8 to £10 15/; sound young herd bulls, £7 7/ to £14 14/; other bulls, £3 10/ to £7; fat and forward shorn wethers, £1 3/6 to £1 6/9;. store wethers, 16/ to £1 2/; hoggets, 18/6 to £1 2/. A small entry of pigs at Tuakau sold at fully Westfield values. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., reports:—Sales were held during the past week at Westfield, Pukekohe (cattle and pigs), Warkworth, Papakura, Paeroa and Ngatea. There was a keen demand for dairy cattle, which sold readily at high values. The demand for store cattle was steady, with late rates ruling. We quote: Best dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, £14 to £18 5/; others, £9 to £13 10/; backward springers, £7 to £9 7/6; aged cows and inferior heifers, £4 to £6 15/; bulls, £4 4/ to 20gs according to breed and quality; store and boner cows £3 to £7 5/; yearling heifers, best, £6 to £9 5/; others, £3 to £5 15/; yearling to 18months steers, £4 10/ to £6 17/6; 2 to 216year steers, £7 to £8 15/; 3 to £9 to £10; 4 to 4 1 i-years, £10 2/6 to £10 17/6; grown steers, in forward condition, £11 to £12 5/. There was a ready demand for all classes of fat and store nies at Pukekohe, values realised being

easily on a par with Westfield quotations. ~ Dalgety and Company, Limited, Aucke land, report having held their usual monthly sale at Helensville last Tuesday, i An average yarding of cattle was prer sented to a good attendance of buyers, ? and prices were well up to late rates. 1 Light fat cows were penned in fair numl bers, and sold at late rates. There was a big yarding of beef and etore cattle at the weekly M&tamata etock sale conducted by the Farmers Co-opera-tive Auctioneering Company, Ltd., on Wednesday. Store pigs '< were in _ keen demand, but baooners were at elightly easier prices. Sheep sold at late rates.
