Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report: During the week we held sales at Westfield, Waiotira, Waiuku, Turua, Helensville, Waiheke and Pukekohe, also a pig sale at Tuakau. There were full yardings of cattle and we report good sales at all centres. Best dairy cows and heifers made £14 to £19; second-grade cows and heifers, £10 to £13 15/; other dairy cows and heifers, £5 10/ to £9 17/0; empty young cows and heifers, £4 10/ to £6 10/; store and boner cows, £2 10 /to £6; cows with calves, £7 to £10 15/; heavy prime fat cows and heifers, £9 to £12 5/; lighter fat cows and heifers, £6 10/ to £8 17/6; fat steers, £12 5/ to £16 17/0; forwardconditioned four-year-old steers, £10 2/ to £10 17/6; three to four-year-old steers, £8 15/ to £10; two to three-year-old steers, £7 to £8 12/6; yearling to 18-month-old steers, £5 10/ ;to £6 17/6 well-bred and well-grown yearling to 15-month-old heifers, £7 15/ to £9 3/, the latter price for heifers bred and sold on account of Mr. Bulte, Waiuku; other wellbred yearling heifers, £6 to £7 12/6; other yearling heifers, £3 15/ to £5 15/; heavy bulls, £8 to £10 15/; sound young herd bulls, £7 7/ to £14 14/; other bulls, £3 10/ to £7; fat and forward shorn wethers, £1 3/6 to £1 6/9;. store wethers, 16/ to £1 2/; hoggets, 18/6 to £1 2/.
