Silver.—Standard, 23 l-16d (23 l-16d) per oz; fine, 24% d (23 3-16 d). AUSTRALIAN WOOL SALES. • MARKET VERY FIRM. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) SYDNEY, October 15. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 9262 bales were sold. The market was very firm and competition was keen, with a widening demand for faulty descriptions. Greasy Merino sold to 19% d. It is reported that the Melbourne sales showed a 5 per cent increase in rates.
