Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Morrinsville on Friday, October 11, when a large yarding of cattle came forward. Beef sold at equal to late rates with a good demand for store cows. A large entry of empty Jersey heifers, sold under keen competition. Light fat cows, £8 10/ to £9 12/6; S.H. forward conditioned cows, £6 2/ to £6 13/; 14 S.H. store cows, £6 2/; 14 S.H. store cows, £5 15/; 17 S.H. store cows, £5 15/; 12 Holstein store cows, £6 5/; 10 Jersey and Jersey cross cows, £4 5/; 15 Holstein cows, £6 13/; yearling steers, £6 5/; best empty yearling Jersey heifers made £7 5/; 13 Jersey heifer 3, £7 5/; Jersey yearling heifers, £6 7/6 to £7; 19 Jersey heifers, £6; 17 Jersey cross heifers, £5 16/; 10 Jersey heifers, £6 10/; 11 Jersey cross heifers, £5 10/; 10 Holstein empty heifers, £5 8/; best dairy heifers, £11 10/ to £14; best dairy cows, £14 10/ to £15; ordinary cows, £8 10/ to £10. Pigs sold at advanced rates. Medium baconers, £4; slips, £1 9/, £1 11/6; best weaners, £1 8/ to £1 11/; others, 18/ to £1 2/, Fat hoggets, £1 6/ to £1 7/1.
