DEVONPORT CLUB.

A highly satisfactory state of affairs was revealed at the annual meeting of the Devonport Amateur Swimming Club last evening. Mr. A. Lane presided. According to the annual report it was stated that the past season was the most active the club had had for many years, and the membership showed an increase, a water polo team being fielded for the first time in the interclub competition. The club was again successful .in encouraging juvenile swimmers, over 250 entries' being received for the primary schools' championships. For the first time in four years the club held a carnival In the Tepid Baths, and it was very successful. The club was successfully represented at last year's New Zealand championships by Miss M. Elworth, who won the 100 yds junior girls' championship. The financial statement' showed the club to be in a satisfactory position,, the excess of receipts over expenditure being £22 14/5. The election of officers resulted as fol-' lows: Patron, Mr. E. H. Little; vice-patron, Mr.' E. W. Sharp; president, Mr. A. Lane; secretary, Mr. F. Langley; assistant secretary, Mr. T.
