LINDBERGH EASILY.
Despite the fact that Lindbergh had six seconds to spare in the Mark Memorial on an actual race performance, admirers of Mountain Dell were so solid for the.Auckland mare that they made her a good favourite. It was the unanimous opinion that only the two had a.chance, and this proved to be the case, but victory went to Lindbergh rather easily at the end. Mountain Dell was 60on out in front, but Donald was not going to let her. get far away, and with a mile to go-he. had Lindbergh handy to her, being content to wait while A. Bryce made play in front. Before the straight Was reached Goldman put in a run which took him within range of the favourites, but it could be seen that the issue was confined to Mountain Dell and Lindbergh. As they swung into the straight Bryce sent Mountain Dell along, but Donald also asked Lindbergh a question, and in a few strides he had the Aucklander and tested hard Mountain Dell skipped. TThis enabled Lindbergh to draw out, and he won rather comfortably.from Mountain Dell. There-was a lot.of merit in the'"performi anco of Lindbergh, but Mountain Dell is j also good and will win big money.
