DONALD'S DOUBLE.
LINDBERGH AND PEARL LOGAN.
To briß" two horses from Christchurch to the Waikato' meeting and win the double makes the trip quite a good one, and this is what C. S. Donald accomplished when he attended the meeting oh Saturday. On form there was every encouragement to regard Lmdbcrghs chance as particularly rosy in the Mark Memorial, and the surprise was that he should only rule second favourite. He made easy work of his task once he got to Mountain Dell and the latter skipped for a few strides. Lindbergh at us previous start went 4.28 4-5 at Addmgton, and seeing that he was handicapped at 435 at Hamilton he will still be_ a tough proposition to meet, as the winning of a 4.38 class provides for a maximum " penalty' of' SO yards which means that at the' worst Lindbergh s next handicap would-be 4.32. He will still have three seconds the best of it, although he has won a big handicap since he registered his best time at Addington. m Pearl Logan's performance m the mile was impressive. She was always well placed, and when it came to racing home she was too good for her opponents, although Joy Bird finished very fast over the last furlong.
