NIGHTMARCH AGAIN.

GREAT HORSE'S VICTORY. cI NEW ZEALANDER'S BRILLIANT a PERFORMANCE. Ir ' DOMINION-BRED RACERS ,f PROMINENT. SYDNEY, October 13. The Australian Jockey Club was favoured with line weather, and for the concluding day of the spring carnival yesterday there was a large attendance at Randwick. The race track was slow, due to recent wet weather. The New Zealand filly Green Linnet received pronounced support from her connections for the Can on bury Stakes, but she ran poorly, and finished at the rear of the field. First Acre made a splendid bid for victory in the Waverley Handicap, but he weakened in the final strides, losing the race by half a head. In the decision of the Dowling Steeplechase Home Made appeared a possibility, but he hit several fences in the latter stages of the race, causing him to weaken at the finish. Nightmarch once again established himself as a great horse by brilliantly capturing the Randwick Plate. The New Zealand horse was running last for most of the' journey. In the final stage of the long journey he fairly smothered the opposition, gaining the verdict by two lengths. David's Day, winner of the Canonbury Stakes, was foaled from Frosty Morn, which was presented by the New Zealand sportsman, Mr. W. G. Stead, to Otway Faulkner, the present owner. The sire was David. New Zealand-bred horses yesterday also filled first three places in the Waverley Handicap. The well-known performer Stony was killed in the Dowling Steeples. Detailed results:— CANONBURY STAKES.
