Another Telephone Cable To Be Laid. IMPORTANT CONTRACT LET. (British Official Wiyele'ss.) KUGBY, October 11. Following upon the rapid increase in telephone calls between Britain and the Continent the firm of Siemens Brothers, of Woolwich, has received an important contract. This is to make and lay a new cable between England and Belgium. The estimated cost considerably exceeds £100,000. The cable, which' is to be more than 75 miles long, will be a dyplieate of the land and submarine line, laid on the same route in 1926. The work will be begun almost at once.
