Sub-Inspector McCarthy, referring to the offence at the Police Court to-day, said that because he did not get his own way when he called at the shelter last night for a bed, Thompson abused everybody. "That's the thanks the people at the shelter get when they try to do a good turn for these men. These men drink all dav and go there at night to rest, said Mr. F. K. Hunt. "They find they can get a bed for nothing and they spend the odd money in liquor during the day. , ' Thompson, who had 21 previous convictions, was lined £4, or 14 days' imprisonment.
