At a meeting of' settlers at Mangaiti to coii'sider the correspondence relating to the pollution of the Waihou River from the Borough of Te Aroha it was decided to, apply to the Minister of Agriculture for; the 'removal of sludge channel rights in the interests of public health. The ■ local building society has _ just formed a No. 2 group, nearly sufficient shares having been already applied for. During Iho past eevon years the members' subscriptions -have amounted to £11,000.! : ■ I
