MUNICIPAL OFFICERS' SOCIAL.
The concert chamber was arranged for a very enjoyable evening on Thursday, when the Municipal; Officers' Social Club held a ladies' evening. The room was tastefully decorated with ferns and gaycoloured flowers, while white streamers added to the effect. There were over 40t) guests present, and exhibition dances were given by students of the Margaret O'Connor Studio. Mr. F. Easson and Miss J. K. Morris gave an exhibition of the quickstep and the modern w;altz. During the evening Mr. R. Richards sang and Miss M. Free gave a recitation. The music 'was supplied by Miss A. Clarke's orchestra. Amongst those present were: Miss M.' McGfuire, old rose georgette; Miss K. ; Christie, Nile green georgette; Miss D. Scott, midnight blue georgette; Mies Lundon,. pink tulle; Miss Culpan, black georgette,, embossed; Mrs. Bennett, powder, blue georgette; Miss Basiten, green georgette and diamante; Mrs. Bendy, blue embossed' ring velvet and lace; Mies Bartram, black lace, Persian shawl; -Mrs.. Speir, blue georgette and diamante; Mns. John Barr, sea green satin, and pink .ehawl; Miss.; Nancy Keeley, pink silk lace overdress; Mrs. H. .Ashby, apricot satin.; Mrs. .Bland, rose ring velvet, black and silver coatee; Miss Joan Dive, sea fairy green tinsel, tulle scarf; Mrs. Pearson, black lace and sequins,.blue fur; Mrs, D. McLaurin, pink satin, string colour lace; > Mrs. Rogers,.cyclamen satin; Mies B. Roberts, old gold satin; Miss B. Hall (Wellingiton), gold spotted tulle; Miss H. Dickins, powder Wue georgette; Mrs. Gray, shell pink petal georgette; Mies M. Free, S'hell pink georgette, embossed velvet; Mise H. Evans, green, satin; Miss Belle Ke'wish, ivory beaded georgette; Mrs. Ashby, Wack satin and lace; Mre. Jack, black frock; Mrs. J. Patterson, 'black silk; Miss Basten, pink georgette and diamante; Mrs. Neal, heliotrope crepe de cKne.
