Xo. 2 grass track was open for fast work, and it was in good order, though there was not a great deal doing. No. 2 Grass. Patutahi and Good Idea were the first to work, running four furlongs in 54 l-ss. The former, who was on the outside, was inclined to hang- out a bit. Neil, alone, covered five furlongs in 1.7 3-5, doing it nicely. War Officer and Kawainga. took 1.24 to run six furlongs, but they were not doing their best. Vallar sprinted home from the three furlong post in 39 4-ss. Taneriri was going a little better than Manawhenua at the end of half a mile in 51 1-06. Clarus and-Praetor took 51 3-5s for four furlongs. Praetor, who has not been in long, was going nicely at the finish. Corinax was given an easy task over a mile and a quarter, running the last round in 1.55 4-5, and the final six furlongs in 1.22 1-5. Some Lady ran home from the four furlong post in 525. Operatic, Bonnie Boy and Eoyal Lad finished as named at the end of six furlongs in 1.25. Measure covered three furlongs in 38s. Bizarro went nicely over a round, which he covered in 1.50. Diamond Queen was allotted a similar task, but was not timed. The Jumpers. Automne (H. Jones) and Mountain Guide (T. Williams) jumped a couple of hurdles safely, and both went well when repeating the task. Importer (J. Sharkey) gave a good display over the steeplechase fences on the flat, which he cleared twice. He then ran six furlongs on the grass in 1.25 2-5.
