DEATH OF MR. J. McCOMBE.
PROMINENT N.Z. TRAINER. 1 r GREAT HORSEMAN IN HIS DAY. WINGATUI, this day. News was received here to-day from Sydney of the death of Mr. John McCombe. He went to Sydney with some horses a few months ago, but after a time was taken to hospital and really never recovered from the effects of ;<n operation. Mr. McCombq. was a great horseman in his day, and for sonic years past had been training at Riccarton, chiefly his own horses. Crown Area and Moovgas were two he took to Sydney, but they were sold when he went into hospital.
