WAIUKU TOWN BOARD.
A special meeting of tbe Waiuku Towa Board was held on Monday, the chairmaa (Mr. J. J. A. James) presiding. The clerk of works reported that the various contracts in band were progress ing favourably and tbat one or two of the contractors would have theirs completed in a few days. Tbe board resolved that tenders should be called immediately for tbe trenching and back filling of about 40 chains in George Street, from the railway crossing to Colombo Road. The Works Committee was authorised to order metal required for the metalling of a portion of Constable Road. It was resolved tbat the Works Committee should discuss with the board's engineer the matter of calling further tenders for trenching and that tenders should be called at the discretion of the com* mittee.
