CHURCH ANNIVERSARY.
BAPTIST TABERNACLE
The 74th anniversary of the Baptist Tabernacle was made the occasion of a tea and social gathering at the church -last night. The Rev. Joseph W. Kemp presided over a large attendance of members and friends. The annual business meeting of the church followed.
A comprehensive, report was presented by the secretary, Mr. Stephen Page. Attention was caJled to the general progress of the year's work, particularly to the outstanding advance made in the young people's departments. The report of the associate treasurers, Messrs. W.H. Lamb and F. S. Battley, showed that contributions had been well maintained during the year, the total amount received being £4861 5/5.
. Opportunity was taken to congratulate Mr. Kemp on the completion of nine years' work since his settlement as minister in the Tabernacle. A resolution making appreciative reference to Mr, Kemp's ministry and .pledging continued loyal support, was heartily endorsed.
Mr. Stephen T. Page w-ae re-elected secretary; Messrs. W. H. Lamb and F. S. Battley were again' returned to office ■as 'associate treasurers'. Mr. G. Hunter was elected to the elders' court, while Messrs. Stuart, Lambourne, B. Williams, G. E. Burt, and F. Gaze (re-elected), were elected to fill vacancies on the diaconate.
