New Zealander To Accompany
Sir D. Mawson.
POST AS METEOROLOGIST.

MELBOURNE, this day
Nine of the scientists who will accompany Sir Douglas Mawson 011 his expedition to the Antarctic will be Australians. New Zealand will represented by Mr. E. Simmers as meteorologist, who, together with the Australians, will join the Discovery at Capetown.
Mr. R. Simmers is 24 years of age. He is a native of Timaru and a son of a former headmasted of Timaru Boys High School, where he was educated. He is at present in the Meteorological Department at Wellington.
