IRISH ANNIVERSARY.

Celebration Of Catholic

Emancipation.

ANTI-IMPERIAL PORTENTS,

("Times" Cables.)

LONDON, June 17,

The Dublin correspondent of the "Times" says the capital of the Irish Free State was lavishly decorated for the celebration of the centenary of Roman Catholic emancipation.

In a medley of flags of all nations, the Free State and Papal flags predominating, not a single Union Jack was visible. This fact gives point to the comment of the "Irish Times" that, under the new regime, symbols and traditions dear to thousands of Irish hearts are being discouraged.

The "Irisli Times" says it regards the endorsement by the President of the Dail, Mr. W. T. Cosgrave, of the refusal of the Governor-General, Mr. James McNeill, to attend the Trinity College sports because "God Save the King" would be played, as a calculated development by the Government of an anti-Imperial policy. That policy, it. says, the bulk of the educated citizens —Protestant and Roman Catholic alike —regard with, growing alarm.
