■ COMMUNITY LIGHTING PLAN. OFFER FOR KAMO SPRINGS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Whangarei Borough Council has been notified that its offer to instal 200-candle-power lamps and provide current at a total cost of £3 10/ per lamp per annum for community lighting, has been accepted. Over 50 lights have been applied for and the committee hopes that the installation will take place before the national dairy conference opens on June 26. James R. Reyburn, farmer, was fined £2 and 10/ costs for negligent driving. A charge of intoxication was dismissed. The Whangarei Hospital Board has received an offer of £3825 through a firm of Auckland solicitors for the Kamo Springs spa. The offer is subject to the tenderers being able to obtain a hotel license. , , . ... A farmers' train carrying about 300 farmers from the South "Island will arrive in Whangarei on Saturday after. noon . June 22. They will stay the night in Whangarei, and go on to Russell next morning.
