HEADMASTER'S CLAIM. 1' ' f - S.M. RESERVES DECISION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) • ' • TAUPO, Friday. H. J. Reaks, headmaster of the Mokai School, in the Magistrate's Court to-day, sued, R. Birks, assayer, of Waihi, for ,£IOO damages for an alleged libel. Reaks asserted that Birks complained to the Education Board and the Director of Education that the master had cruelly ill-treated children, and that one of tliem was laid up for a week. This was denied "by several' witnesses. The magistrate, Mr. S. L. Paterson, reserved his decision.
