HIGHER BASIC WAGE.
WILL LEAD TO UNEMPLOYMENT SYDNEY, May 2. The chairman of the Australian Woolgrowers' Council has issued a statement to the effect that the rise in the Federal basic wage for watersiders would inevitably lead to more unemployment. As the wool market was down by 25 per cent, graziers would have to look round for some way of reducing overhead charses.
