Owners And Miners Asked To
Re-open Mines.
SETTLE QUARRELS AFTER
(Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Bruce, at a conference of representative.--of coal owners and the Miners' Federation, made an appeal to both sides to reopen the mines and settle their differences afterwards. A full investigation would be made by a Royal Commission. Mr. Bruce announced that the prosecution of John Brown, the millionaire coal owner, would not be proceeded with.
