Mr. William Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, left for Wellington by train last eveniug. Lord and Lady Hillingdon, who left Auckland yesterday for Russell for deepsea fishing, will not return until the end of next week. Mr. Percy Brett leaves Auckland by the Maunganui this afternoon for Sydney. on his return to London, where he is the representative for a number of Xew Zealand papers. Sir James Mills, chairman of the directors of the L'hion Steamship Co., Lt<f!, arrived in Auckland by ear from Wellington yesterday, and is staying at Hotel C'argen. Major-General R. Young, G.O.C. Xew Zealand Forces, who arrived at Frankton Junction yesterday, and inspected the current camp at Hopuhopu, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. G. Baildon, Mayor of Auckland, Mr. J. B. Paterson, a member of the City Council, and Mr. J. S. Brigham, town clerk, will leave for Wanganui on ! Monday as delegates to the Municipal I Conference. Mr. H. Holland, M.P. for C'hristchurch jXorth. and Mrs. Holland, who have been attending the Methodist Conference, left this morning for Thames, where they will spent the week-end with their son before returning to C'hristchurch. Mr. A. J. Stratford and Mr. W. J. H. Reynolds have been appointed to repre sent the Auckland A. and P. Association at a conference next month at Wellington between the Xew Zealand Land Settlement League and the Prime Minister and other Ministers of the Crown. The Rev. A. R. Allerton has been appointed vicar of St. Thomas', Freeman's Bay. He is expected to arrive from England soon after Easter. The Rev. H. Jillings, who had charge of the parish in January, has returned to England after a short visit to Xew Zealand for health reasons. The temporary cha. ge of the parish has been undertaken by the Rev. E. H. Wyatt.
