NEW ZEALAND BRANCH. PRESIDENT HE ELECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ROTORUA, this day. The annual meeting of the New Zealand branch of the Empire Press Union was held to-day, some 35 members being present. Sir Geo. Fenwiek (chairman) presided. The report stated that the branch was formed immediately after the formation of the union in England. It had been in existence for 19 years, it numbered (52 members and associates, and had fully done its share of its duties, both financially and otherwise. Allusion was made to the progress of wireless, messages from the Byrd expedition being mentioned as an instance of its value, but regret was expressed that more had not been done in New Zealand to promote its use. Finances showed a credit balance of £88. Sir Geo. Fenwiek, who received a great ovation, was re-elected chairman. The committee was re-elected, viz., Messrs. H. Horton, W. Cecil Leys, L. P. Blundell, P. Selig, W. C. Weston, C. W. Earle, J. Coombe, A. McNicol, R. J. Gilmour, C. S. Smith, L. W. Dow (secretary), and W. Easton (auditor). The president stated that invitations had been sent for twelve delegates from New Zealand for the next Imperial Conference.
