TAUPO PUMICE COUNTRY.
MINISTER TOR EAST COAST. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. An itinerary lias been arranged for the visit of the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. E. A. Hansom, during the ensuing fortnight to district-* \. hich will lie served liy the proposed East Coast railway extension and by the proposed Taupo railway, also for a visit to the Arapuni dam.
The itinerary is as follows: Friday, arrival at Napier. Saturday, deputations and visit to Wniroa, viewing tlio railway works en route, and to Waikokupu, returning to Wairoa the. same evening. Sunday, inspection of tlie Waikaremoana hvdro-eleetrie works. Monday visit to Gisborne. Wednesday, leave for Opotiki. Thursday, visit YVliakatane, thence, to Kotorna for the night. Friday, visit Taupo and Tokaiinu, letmning to Wairakei for the night. Saturday, return to Rotorun, via Atian.tfri. Sunday, visit Arapuni, later connecting with tlie limited for Wellington at Hamilton.

The Putaruru Chamber of Commerce has advised Mr. J. A. You.ig, MP., of the itinerary which has been arranged tor ilie tiir of members of pjrlia<mnt through Putaruru and the pumice country north of Taupo. It is as follows: — To-day: Arrive at Putaruru by Rotorua express, leaving by car at 4.15 p.m. for Lichfield and Overdale district, returning to Putaruru for dinner. To-morrow: Leave by Taupo Totara Timber Company's train at a.\n. for Crossing Estate, Tokoron and Ongoroto. returning to Putaruru for dinner. Saturday: "Visit Waotu and Arapuni. leaving Putaruru by evening train for Auckland.
