TAKAPUNA BUS FARES.
CONCESSION TICKETS.
BELMONT TO MILFORD ONLY.
Travellers by the Takapuna buses have been agitating for some time for some concession on tlie charge of threepence ii. section. A deputation headed by the Mayor of the borough (Mr. .1. W. Williamson) waited on the chairman of the Takapuna Transport Company (the Hon. E. \V. Alison) yesterday, and the latter announced that tlie directors had agreed to issue concession cards at a price of two shillings for twelve rides, making the sectional charge 2d instead of 3d.' The cash fares, however, will remain as at present. The cards will be available at any time, although the deputation had only asked that they should apply between 0 a.m. and 4 p.m. These concession cards will not apply between Bayswater and Belmont or between Belmont and Devon port.. They will come into effect; on March 1, and will apply only to riders between Bellront and Hauraki Road, between Hauraki Road and tlie Strand, and between the Strand and Milford, and on the same sections in the reverse direction.
Tt had been asked that the ferry company should issue season tickets between Takapuna and Auckland for bus and ferry combined, but this could not be agreed to by the company.
