OBITUARY.

MRS. WANSBONE,

The death has occurred at the of 76 years of Mrs. Sarah Wansbone, relict of the late Joseph Wansbone, who arrived in New Zealand in 1.873 and settled _ in South Canterbury. The remaining members of the fa'milv are Messrs. George H. Wansbone (Dargaville), Joseph (Mangonui), John (Avondale), Bertram (Kirikopnni) and Mrs Tait (Oamaru). One son died at Nelson last vear.

MRS. SAMUEL BRADLEY,

| A resident of Arapohue for 59 years. Mrs. Samuel Bradley, died yesterday morning. She arrived in Auckland with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Kidd, from Xewry. Ireland, in the ship Shalimar on Christmas Eve. 1859. She was married to th* late Mr. Samuel Bradley at Arapohue in 1870. Three sisters, Mrs. Franklin Bradlev, Mrs. Eric Thompson, and Mrs. Beas'ley, predeceased her. She is survived by a brtlier. Mr. -Tas. Kidd, of Te Kopuru, and another sister. Mrs. Youno-, of Epsom. Mrs. Bradley leaves 'three daughters, Mesdames J. T. Morrison, Len. Kitching (both of Arapohue), e! W. Toogood (Dargaville). and four sons. Washington, of New Lynn, James 8., Geo. H.. and Hamilton (all of Arapohue). There are twelve grandchildren.

CAPTAIN WALTER MANNING,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Wednesdav. The death occurred yesterday of Captain Walter Manning, one of the best known masters in the employ of the Union Steamship Company, who retired in 1918 after .36 years' service as a master mariner. 23 years of which were in the Wellington-Lyttelton ferry service. Born in London, he was apprenticed to the engineering trade, but took to the sea life and came to New Zealand in 1873. joining the Union Company in 1880. He commanded the Maori from 1907 till his retirement. He was in his seventy-fifth vear.

MRS. MARY JACKSON.

IN AUCKLAND 73 YEARS. At the great age of 98 years, Mrs. Mary .Tackson died yesterday. She was an early resident in New Zealand, being a daughter of the Rev. J. F. Mandeno, who came to Auckland with his family iii August. 1 So."). Mrs. Jackson was the oldest of a large family, of which she was the last survivor. For a short while she lived at the house of Mr. Busby, British resident at Kororareka. Bay of Islands. Two years after landimr. Miss Mandeno was married to the late Captain Thomas .Tackson. who was for many years Resident Magistrate in the Waikato and at Pukekolie. Her hysband died 22 years ago.
