KAWHIA, Tuesdav.

The body of Mr. John Riddell, who was drowned last Friday evening as a result of a surf boat capsizing off the Hari Hari run, near Marokopa. was washed ashore to : day on the Taharoa Beach, about five miles away. The body of Ru Pei is still missing.

Evidence at the inquest concerning the death of Charlie Maikaku, the third victim, showed that the six Maoris remained loyally by Mr. Riddell when ttie boat overturned, he being an indifferent swimmer, but all were exhausted by the struggle in the breakers. Ru Tei was a particularly fine swimmer and accustomed to this work, but he "was exhausted through his efforts to save his employer and friend. .« s .'„ ~
