WAIHI G.M. CO.

TIN MINING PROPOSITION

AT MALAY STATES.

In 1927 the directors of the Waihi Gold Mining Company reported they were considering a tin proposition in the East. Mr. E. G. Banks, superintendent of the Waihi Mine, who has been in the East for the past twelve months, returned this week. His mission abroad was the investigation of tin properties, and he states that the Waihi Company, in partnership with a Malay tin company, has paid a deposit of £10,000 on what appears to be a suitable tin prospect. The purchase, however, is subject to completion of valid titles, which may take several months.

Mr. Banks will return to the East about March or April."

Shares in the Waihi Company firmed a little yesterday afternoon, sales being made at 14/7 and 14/8.

Diamond drilling in the Waihi mine has been discontinued, as it failed to locate any important new ore bodies.
