A RAID IN CHRISTCHURCH.

Six people were arrested this morning on charges of breaches of the Gamine Act. *

The detective force paid simultaneous visits to five premises, four being hotels. Those arrested were: Eunice Brown (otherwise Miss Hobbs), a barmaid, aged 42; Herbert George Taylor, William Stanton Murray, Edward Best McCleary, William Frederick Kiddey (a barman, aged 58), Frederick Alfred Fox (a barman, aged 53). All were admitted to bail, the cases being adjourned till Tuesday.
