MOTORISTS CAUGHT.

OFFENCES AGAINST BY-LAWS.

Motorists who had offended against the by-laws were present in Court this morning in fairly large numbers. For failing to obey traffic officers Lewis Arnoldson, Thoma* John Thompson and Lilian Smith were each fined 10/. Three people left their cars unattended. Leonard Guest.: Robert T. Barnes and Harry Bayly were each fined to/; while George Lands was ordered to pay costs. Frederick J. Dawson passed a tramcar on the wrong side and this cost him £1, while William Curtis who passed a stationary tramcar was fined a similar •mount.

Leslie Harding was fined £1 for proceeding without a signal and William Arthur Gray had to pay 10/ for the same offence.

It is an offence to pass another vehicle on Grafton Bridge. For having done this John Taylor was fined 10/ and Malcolm Stuart Aimer £1.

Having turned to the right when they should not have done so cost John William Bcw and Oliver Cyril Godfrey 10/ •ach, and William Daniel Colmore £1. Dangerous driving cost Martin Darge Dick and John Mitchell Odlin £2 each. Harold Arthur Chambers was fined £2 for plying for hire with an unlicensed taxicab, while Christopher C. Robinson was ordered to pay costs for having an Unsealed meter on his taxi cab. Victor Lionel Baker who left his vehicle within 20 feet of a corner was fined £1; and Otto Hauer for having his vehicle in a safety zone area was fined 10/. B. Butler and S. Carter were fined 5/ and £1 respectively for allowing their cattle to stray. Police Conrt Fines. A number of motorists who had broken the city by-lays and were prosecuted by Senior Sergeant O'Grady for the police, were dealt with by Mr. W. R. McKean in the lower Police Court this morning. * For parking their cars at an angle. Cyril H. Lewis and Frederick E. Homan were each lined £1 and costs, while for a similar offence Iris Humphreys was lined 10/, plus costs. Arthur E. W. Crouch, for speeding, was lined £2 and costs, and for driving his car over a railway crossing when the line was not clear George Walker was mulcted £1 10/ and costs. Failing to give way to vehicles on their right cost Frederick Blackman and Keginald K. Mens fines of £1 and costs.

The Takapuua Borough Council WSI fined 10/ and costs for using an unlicensed motor vehicle.
