The Takapuna owner-trainer, Mr. W. J. Wilson, expected to win a race with his two maidene, Arihana and Justify, at the Thames meeting. On the first day Justify managed to get third in the second division of the T»pu Handicap, but Arihana, who started favourite for the Puriri Hack, ran • poor race and was never in the firing Hn«. However yesterday Justify brought in the expense* of the trip when the son of G»J Lad—Assertive beat a couple of better backed ones than himself, and we » £• HikuUla Handicap rather well.
