WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

HESSELL—DESMOND.

The marriage took place at the Chapel of Our Glorified Lord, Diocesan High School, Epsom, on Monday morning, of Miss Grace Dora Desmond, elder daughter of Mr. G. G. Desmond, of Cheltenham, England, and the late Rosa Skynner Desmond, to Mr. Guy Hesseil, eldest son of Mr. William Ivory Hesseil and the late Sophy Hesseil, of Upland Road, Auckland. Miss Desmond is a senior mistress at Diocesan High School for Girls. The Venerable Archdeacon Simpkin officiated, and' choral music was supplied by the Sixth Form and Miss Desmond's present and last year's forms Va and Vb. The bride, who was given away by Miss E. H. Sandford, principal of Diocesan High School, wore a frock of powder blue peorgette and navy crepe de chine, embroidered in gold and blue. A simple navy straw hat trimmed with gold leaves completed the ensemble, and a beautiful blue and silver handbag, the gift of some of her colleagues, was carried. Miss Dorothy j Hesseil acted as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of powder blue crepe de chine with hat to tone. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. J. Hesseil as best man. A reception "was held after the ceremony, in the grounds of the school house, and Miss Sandford received her pruests wearing a frock of beige marocain with brown Bangkok hat to tone. Amongst the guests present were: Ml and Mrs. Norman Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Hesseil, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hesseil, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Vernon, Mrs. Alan Mulgan, Mrs. Johnson. CAMERON—DAVIS. I A pretty wedding was solemnised in ] St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Otahuhu. on Wednesday afternoon, when Miss A. Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Davis, of Nikau Road, was married to Mr. Cameron, of Scotland. The bride, who entered the Church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette and silver lace, and carried a beautiful white bouquet. Miss E. Davis, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a dainty frock of cream and mauve crepe de chine. Mr. Osborne was best man. The Rev. W. T. Currie officiated, and Miss E. Moffat played the organ. After the ceremony, the wedding breakfast was held in St. Andrew's Hall, Mrs. Davis, the mother of the bride receiving the guests, dressed in a handsome black crepe de chine frock. The usual toasts were honoured, and a dance was held in the evening. TURNBULL—BURNS. The wedding took place in the Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, on Friday evening, of Mis* Eileen Burns, and Mr. Jack Tumbull, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Tumbull, Panmure Road. The bride looked charming in a frock of white satin and silk lace. Miss Josephine Whye was bridesmaid, in an ankle-length dress of apricot satin and lace. Mr. Re"-. Ackin was best man. The Rev. C. W. B. Seton officiated, and Mr. A. White was at the organ. After the service in the Church, a reception was held in the Parish Hall, Mrs. Burns receiving the guests, wearing a navy crepe de chine , frock, wiyi i&J£S£*l trimmings, ___
