V.R.C. MEETING. GOTHIC STILL ON TOP. MELBOURNE, November 8. The Victoria Racing Club's spring meeting was continued at Flemington today in fine weather and there was a good attendance.

The English-bred horse Gothic registered an attractive and popular victory in the Linlithgow Stakes. Gothic has only been defeated on one occasion this season in a weight-for-age race. He has now won oyer £16,000 in stakes under the coloure of Mr. Sol Green.

Opera Queen, was a long way back in the early stages of the contest for the Victoria Oaks, but finished fast and won nicely. She was bred by her owner, Mr. J. M. Cummings. The time was a race record. The prize to the winner amounted to £1206. Dion, who led always in the Veteran Stakes, was ridden by the apprentice C. Phillips, who registered his first riding success.
