BULL HOLDS UP TRAIN.
LIMITED DELAYED BY ESCAPEE,
With angry snorts and grunts, a wellbred but particularly ferocious bull pranced up and down the main line and held* up the North-bound Limited for a time near Taumaruiuii. While the bull paraded up and down the main tracks the Limited, with a full load of passengers, waited patiently outside the signalsticks. The delay was only a matter of a few minutes, for the bull was soon shifted and chased back on to the near-by farm from which it had escaped. It is lucky that the bull chose a epot near a station, for had the train struck it while travelling on the open line the engine might have been derailed.
