BEAM WIRELESS TESTS.
HEARD AT GISBORNE.
SIGNALS AT FULL STRENGTH.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
GISBORNE, this day.
Mr. Ivan O'Meara this morning picked up the signals sent out on a ten-metre wave-length by the Scheneetady station, New York, which is testing the transmission between Australia and the United States.
From 5.15 to 10.30 a.m. the signals came through consistently and strongly, and the various messages were received without difficulty. The tests were made with variations of the single of the beam, and some were more successful than others.
