LONG AND STORMY MEETING

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

HAMILTON, Sunday.

The Hon. J. A. Young heard all about the land drainage problems of the Puketaha settlers last night, when he addressed a meeting which lasted' until nearly midnight. At the end Mr. J. R. H. Kuhtz moved that Mr. Young be thanked for his address, but that the meeting express no-confidence in the Reform party. An amendment to strike out the latter part of the motion was carried. Mr. W. H. Worster then moved a further amendment to add the words: "We universally regret that the Reform party and Mr. Young are in touch with one another." When this question was being put, the meeting broke up in confusion.
