MAIDEN VOYAGE
The fourth of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line's new motor Bhips, the Karamea, arrives from London to-day on her maiden voyage. « Her sister ships, the Zealandic, Coptic and Taranaki, have already visited New Zealand and proved highly successful. All four are constructed from the one design, but the Coptic and Zealandic were built by Messrs. The Karamea is designed to do between 14} and 15 knots fully loaded, but on trials attained well over 15} knots. On her present voyage she left London on September 14, and is running well up to schedule. She has several passengers aboard, as well as a large quantity of cargo for Auckland and Wellington.
