RACING CONFERENCE.
SPECIAL MEETING AT WELLINGTON.
RE-ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE.
FRESH NOMINATIONS TO BE
CALLED.

WELLINGTON, this day.
A special meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference, called to consider a proposal to alter the method of electing the executive committee of the Conference was held to-day. The vice-presi-dent (Mr. O. S. Watkins) was in the chair, in the absence through ill-health of Sir Geo. Clifford.
A motion, notice of which had been given by the president, was carried as follows: "That the election of tho executive committee at last annual conference having been declared void by the president, as the method of voting at that election was not in accordance with the votes specified under part three, rule five of the Rules of Racing, the action of tho president in declaring the election voidv be endorsed by Conference, which orders a new election for the executive committee and that new nominations shall be taken."
Another motion by the president was approved, to interpret the executive committee as follows:—"The executive committee means a committee consisting of the president, vice-president, and six representatives of Conference, who shall be elected at cach annual conference, or, if necessary, at a special meeting of Conference, three to form a quorum."
